Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p |Pay:
Salaried, paygrade 16 Weekly earned wage access is an option for this position Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Pharmacist Resident provides pharmaceutical care as a licensed practitioner under the supervision of an experienced preceptor to gain exposure to a broad range of clinical scenarios and excel growth beyond entry-level experience. You will report to the Director.Primary Tasks:
1. Perform residency specific responsibilities including conducting research and complete medication reviews, assisting with performance improvement projects, and delivering presentations to staff. 2. Attend clinical rotations in several hospital and clinical settings. 3. Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed. 4. Review and monitor drug therapy that requires dosing adjustments as authorized by the physician. 5. Assist the Chief Pharmacist with responsibilities while following our mission, policy and any applicable laws. 6. Compound medications using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. 7. Monitor posting onto the patient profile in order that accuracy, drug allergies, drug interactions, duplicate therapy, rational drug therapy and incompatibilities may be realized and better patient care received. 8. Enters data into the computer system such as patient, prescribed medications and cost and maintains patient profiles and charge system. 9. Answer questions and provide information to physicians, nurses, patients and other health care professionals on the appropriate use of medications, drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage. Addresses complaints and resolves problems. 10. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.Required Education and Experience:
- College degree in Pharmacy
- Current pharmacy license or ability to obtain Pharmacy licensed within 90 days of hire
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as dosage calculations, formulation of pharmaceutical preparations and data analysis
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract variables
- College degree in Pharmacy
- Current pharmacy license or ability to obtain Pharmacy licensed within 90 days of hire
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as dosage calculations, formulation of pharmaceutical preparations and data analysis
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
