Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing expert medication management, ensuring optimal patient care, and supporting clinical pharmacy services within a fast-paced hospital environment. Your expertise will contribute to safe medication practices, patient safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hospital pharmacy experience, including critical care and trauma center exposure, along with a passion for delivering exceptional patient service. Duties Dispense medications accurately while adhering to all safety protocols and aseptic techniques. Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and review medication therapy plans tailored to individual patient needs. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including evaluating physiology and anatomy knowledge, to optimize medication use. Manage IV infusions and participate in acute pain management strategies within the
ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or emergency room settings. Monitor medication administration processes, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards and hospital policies. Provide clinical pharmacy consultations focusing on hospital medicine, critical care, and trauma center protocols such as Level I and Level II trauma experiences. Support patient service initiatives by educating patients on medication use, potential side effects, and proper adherence techniques. Maintain detailed documentation of medication dispensing, patient interactions, and clinical interventions for quality assurance. Assist in emergency situations by applying emergency room experience and critical care expertise to support rapid decision-making. Qualifications Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction. Extensive hospital experience with a focus on critical care environments such as ICU or emergency rooms. Proven background in managed care settings and Level I/Level II trauma centers. Post-residency experience or pharmacy residency training emphasizing clinical pharmacy practice. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles related to acute care and pain management. Hands-on experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques essential for sterile compounding. Demonstrated ability in patient assessment, medication administration, and patient care within hospital medicine settings. Familiarity with pediatrics (Pediatrics) pharmacotherapy and pediatric-specific medication protocols. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments like the PICU or trauma units.
