Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A community hospital on Cape Cod is seeking a skilled night shift pharmacist to provide critical pharmacy services in a 200-bed facility located approximately 70 miles south of Boston. This position offers a contract opportunity to work a consistent night schedule, supporting hospital pharmacy operations with a focus on safe and effective medication management.

Schedule:

Night shift: 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM 7 days on, 7 days off rotation

Key Responsibilities:

Order verification to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders Supervision and coordination of pharmacy technicians during night shift hours Applying pharmacokinetic principles to optimize patient-specific dosing Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to provide consultative support Utilizing IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis to manage pharmacy workflows and documentation

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Active Massachusetts pharmacist license required Previous hospital pharmacy experience demonstrating sound clinical judgment Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems preferred Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently during overnight hours This contract role provides a valuable opportunity for a hospital pharmacist to take on a critical role supporting patient care overnight in a well-established community hospital setting.
