This contract position involves working primarily Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts, though scheduling flexibility is available for the right candidate. The role arises from an emergency mandate requiring pharmacist presence during night hours due to a Pyxis system crisis and CDPH regulations. Responsibilities include order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, consulting with nursing and medical staff, and managing pharmacokinetics. You will work within a 100-licensed-bed facility averaging 50 daily patient admissions. The position offers valuable experience with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets and the dynamic challenges of hospital pharmacy. Candidates new to the field, including recent graduates and those transitioning from retail pharmacy, are welcome. To begin quickly, candidates must be compliant with Soliant staffing requirements.

Desired qualifications and experience:

Valid pharmacist license Experience or familiarity with Pyxis or automated dispensing systems preferred Ability to verify medication orders accurately Strong supervisory and communication skills for collaboration with clinical teams Pharmacokinetics knowledge beneficial but not mandatory Capacity to adapt to an emergency-driven assignment and flexible scheduling
