Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist in Charge to lead our pharmacy team and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will oversee daily pharmacy operations, maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, and foster a collaborative environment focused on patient safety and service excellence. Your expertise in clinical pharmacy, medication management, and pharmacy operations will drive the success of our pharmacy services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team while making a meaningful impact on patient health outcomes. Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory management, and staff supervision Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, state and federal pharmacy laws, and accreditation standards Lead patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy plans and provide clinical consultations Manage medication compounding, including sterile (aseptic technique) and non-sterile preparations, ensuring safety and accuracy Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems effectively for documentation and workflow management Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans, pain management protocols, and immunization programs Supervise pharmacy technicians, providing training on pharmacy procedures, medication administration, IV infusion techniques, and inventory control Maintain accurate records of medication administration, inventory levels, and compliance documentation Lead efforts in patient service initiatives such as immunizations, pediatrics care, and patient education on medication use Ensure proper handling of sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while maintaining confidentiality Qualifications Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction Proven experience in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital/acute care settings with critical care experience preferred Completion of a pharmacy residency program is highly desirable Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on patient care and medical management Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles Experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools Skilled in compounding medications using aseptic techniques for IV infusions and other sterile preparations Knowledge of immunizations administration procedures and pediatric medication protocols Ability to perform patient assessments including medication reconciliation and evaluation of treatment plans Familiarity with IV insertion techniques and pain management strategies in acute care settings Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and educate patients Prior experience supervising pharmacy technicians or support staff is preferred Join us as a Pharmacist in Charge to lead our dedicated team in delivering top-tier pharmaceutical care.
