In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and deliver exceptional patient care. Your leadership will drive the pharmacy's success in providing safe, effective medication management and patient services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence healthcare delivery while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Duties Manage all aspects of pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory control, and staff supervision Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations, including HIPAA compliance for patient privacy Oversee medication compounding, including sterile preparations using aseptic techniques and IV infusion procedures Lead patient assessments to optimize medication therapy plans, including pediatrics and critical care cases Coordinate with healthcare providers on medical management strategies and pain management protocols Supervise pharmacy technicians, providing training on pharmacy software systems, inventory management, and medication administration procedures Maintain accurate records within electronic health record (EHR) systems and pharmacy management software Conduct regular audits of inventory levels, expiration dates, and controlled substance logs to ensure safety and compliance Facilitate immunization programs and administer vaccinations following proper protocols Implement patient service initiatives focused on improving patient care outcomes and satisfaction Requirements Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction Proven experience in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital settings, with critical care experience preferred Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems and electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) Skilled in compounding medications using aseptic techniques and managing IV infusions Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments and provide comprehensive medication management Experience with immunizations, medication administration, IV insertion, and infusion therapies Knowledge of inventory management practices for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and educating patients Prior hospital or acute care experience is highly desirable; experience in pain management is a plus Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and quality Join us as our Pharmacist in Charge to make a meaningful difference in patient lives through expert medication management and compassionate care.
