Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type All Job Types An opening opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy at a behavioral health inpatient facility in Columbia, MO. This role requires an experienced pharmacist to lead pharmacy operations on an interim basis. The assignment begins on April 29th with two days of cross-training, followed by solo responsibility starting May 1st, continuing until a permanent hire is made.

Columbia, MO Setting:
Inpatient Behavioral Health Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (30-minute unpaid meal break)
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with regulations and high-quality patient care Manage medication dispensing, including repackaging and automated system loading Utilize automated medication systems such as Omnicell and run restock reports Collaborate with healthcare teams to support inpatient behavioral health medication needs
Qualifications/Experience:
Active Missouri Pharmacist license Experience with Omnicell medication management systems preferred Familiarity with repackaging processes using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL systems is desirable Basic knowledge of loading medications into automated dispensing machines and generating restock reports This interim position offers the chance to lead a critical pharmacy department within a behavioral health setting.
