Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract An expanding specialty pharmacy seeks an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy in Lancaster, PA. This full-time, onsite role offers a unique chance to shape pharmacy operations from inception, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence through licensure, inspection readiness, and active dispensing phases. The position starts mid-June and follows a temp-to-hire pathway with long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ongoing compliance Lead pharmacy licensing processes, regulatory filings, and Board of Pharmacy inspection readiness Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and pharmacy policies aligned with state and federal regulations, including DEA requirements Design and support operational workflows and quality systems during setup and post-launch Oversee dispensing accuracy, safety standards, and ongoing regulatory adherence Maintain audit readiness and act as primary liaison during inspections Collaborate with leadership to scale operations and potentially assist with multi-state licensing expansion
Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required) Proven experience as a PIC or leadership role within pharmacy operations Solid understanding of pharmacy regulatory requirements and compliance standards Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy preferred Experience in audits, inspections, or pharmacy startups highly beneficial Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
