Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract A part-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) opportunity is available within a specialized Opioid Treatment Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role offers a one-year contract with the potential for extension or transition to direct hire, providing stability and growth potential within a focused healthcare environment.
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 5:00 AM - 10:00 AM 20 hours per week
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations. Conduct thorough chart reviews while ensuring precise and detailed documentation. Verify prescriptions to maintain patient safety. Fill prescriptions in the absence of pharmacy technicians. Prepare and complete internal pharmacy reports and forms utilizing Microsoft Excel. Ensure strict adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations. Operate independently, particularly when technician support is unavailable. Engage with patients only upon request, with no billing or insurance processing duties.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history. 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience. Experience in substance abuse or opioid treatment settings is preferred but not required. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
