Job Description
Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract A growing healthcare facility is seeking a skilled pharmacist with hospital experience and a valid Ohio pharmacy license to join their team on a contract basis starting June 1st. This role supports patient care by ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing critical drug information, and overseeing pharmacy operations within a hospital setting. The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with every 6th weekend coverage (with subsequent weekdays off), providing a balance of routine hours alongside opportunities for rewarding weekend service.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, process, and dispense medication orders accurately to ensure patient safety and therapeutic effectiveness. Monitor patient medication therapies, adjusting regimens as necessary based on clinical effectiveness and patient needs. Maintain pharmacy policies, quality programs, and compliance with regulatory standards. Communicate medication information clearly to patients, families, and healthcare providers. Participate actively in emergency drug therapy management, including medication preparation and support. Supervise and coordinate pharmacy technician activities to meet departmental goals.Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy. Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing. Minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and patients. Commitment to ethical, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
