This position requires a licensed technician familiar with inpatient pharmacy operations and medication distribution systems. Location Santa Ana, CA Job Type Contract, initially full-time for approximately four weeks, transitioning to PRN availability Schedule/Hours Shift hours rotate and vary based on coverage needs Shifts include 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM Weekend shifts: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Responsibilities Perform IV compounding and medication preparation Fill and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets Support medication order entry using Paragon/Allscripts systems Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure efficient inpatient medication delivery Maintain compliance with hospital and state regulations Qualifications / Desired Experience Current Pharmacy Technician license valid in California Experience with IV compounding and Pyxis automation system Familiarity with inpatient pharmacy workflow and electronic order entry systems (Paragon/Allscripts) Ability to work variable shifts including weekends Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a pharmacy team Additional Information Licensed beds: 117 Average daily census: 44 Local candidates preferred due to flexible scheduling and rotation needs This contract assignment provides an excellent opportunity for a pharmacy technician seeking steady work with potential ongoing PRN shifts after an initial full-time period.
