Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract To Hire An opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacy technician to join a specialty retail pharmacy team focused on serving complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This 13-week contract with potential for hire requires a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills to thrive in a patient-centered environment.
Location:
Lakewood, OH Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00
PM Duration:
13 weeks, contract to hire
Start Date:
Immediate Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients typically on 8-15 daily prescriptions Provide patient counseling with patience and empathy, addressing the unique challenges faced by Medicare/Medicaid and low-income populations Support patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis Maintain knowledge of 200-400 commonly prescribed retail medications Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure high-quality pharmaceutical care tailored to complex patient needs
Qualifications:
Previous retail pharmacy technician experience required, specialty retail pharmacy experience highly preferred Strong communication skills with a compassionate, patient approach for a diverse patient population with low literacy Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification strongly preferred but not mandatory Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment focused on patient care This position offers the chance to engage meaningfully with patients managing chronic illnesses and to grow your career within a specialty pharmacy setting.
