The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care within a hospital or acute care setting. This position requires proficiency in medical terminology and a solid understanding of pharmacy operations, including aseptic techniques and IV infusion processes. Duties Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with prescriptions. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and educating patients about their medications. Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals, including ordering, restocking, and monitoring expiration dates. Perform aseptic technique during the preparation of sterile products, including IV infusions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support critical care initiatives and enhance patient outcomes. Document all medication-related activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with medical terminology and pharmacy practices. Requirements Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and experience with IV infusion preparation is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and collaboration within a healthcare team. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is an advantage but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is required.
