Position Overview This is a part time position 3 days per week A successful Pharmacy Technician must be passionate about healthcare and want to make a difference in the lives of others. The technician must also act as a mission-driven catalyst to help Livingston Community Health deliver the highest quality of care and excellent service to our patients and their families. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, will perform services in a pharmacy and technical pharmaceutically related duties that do not require a license. Plus other pharmacy-related work and administrative tasks related to the department. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements. Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist. Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security. Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies. Enters data into the computer system, recording prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements. Under direction of pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal. Performs general clerical duties for the department. Attends and actively participates in all meetings (e.g., department meetings, program meetings, staff meetings) and other activities as required or assigned. Attends workshops/seminars as necessary to increase skills and knowledge to provide effective care, treatment, and/or leadership. Supports the overall need of the pharmacy by working flexible or extended hours when necessary. Demonstrates competence with the mission, vision, and values of the organization to provide quality healthcare to those served in the community. Other work-related duties as assigned. Education, License/Certification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education

• High School Diploma or GED required. Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program. Minimum two years of demonstrated experience. Experience working in a community health center, clinic, or hospital preferred. License/Certification
• Current and valid registration with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Current CPR certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Basic clerical and pharmaceutical office practices.

Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology. Demonstrated knowledge and skill with weights and measures. Ability to follow meticulous written and oral instructions. Read and write in English. Perform mathematical computation with accuracy. Distinguish subtle differences in pharmaceutical terminology. Willingness to recheck one's own work and work within exacting meticulous guidelines. Knowledge in pharmacy practice and industry best practices in optimizing the use of medication to treat patients. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility; anticipate and effectively manage change. Patient experience oriented with the ability to respond quickly and with empathy to patient issues. Interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships with peers and patients. Superior ability to correctly type information. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
