Position Overview This is a part time position 3 days per week A successful Pharmacy Technician must be passionate about healthcare and want to make a difference in the lives of others. The technician must also act as a mission-driven catalyst to help Livingston Community Health deliver the highest quality of care and excellent service to our patients and their families. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, will perform services in a pharmacy and technical pharmaceutically related duties that do not require a license. Plus other pharmacy-related work and administrative tasks related to the department. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements. Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist. Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security. Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies. Enters data into the computer system, recording prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements. Under direction of pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal. Performs general clerical duties for the department. Attends and actively participates in all meetings (e.g., department meetings, program meetings, staff meetings) and other activities as required or assigned. Attends workshops/seminars as necessary to increase skills and knowledge to provide effective care, treatment, and/or leadership. Supports the overall need of the pharmacy by working flexible or extended hours when necessary. Demonstrates competence with the mission, vision, and values of the organization to provide quality healthcare to those served in the community. Other work-related duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the direction of leadership, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Maintains confidentiality and respect for all sensitive information. Displays a positive, professional, and respectful demeanor at all times towards employees, peers, professional contacts, and patients served, maintaining a professional appearance and positive image for LCH. Contributes as part of the team by promoting positive staff interactions and maintaining open communication with other programs and departments. Education, License/Certification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education- High School Diploma or GED required. Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program. Minimum two years of demonstrated experience. Experience working in a community health center, clinic, or hospital preferred. License/Certification
- Current and valid registration with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Current CPR certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic clerical and pharmaceutical office practices.
