Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, managing patient medication records, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. Your expertise in pharmacy operations, combined with excellent patient service skills, will contribute to delivering exceptional healthcare experiences in fast-paced hospital or clinical settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of patient-centered care, utilizing your technical skills to make a meaningful difference. Duties Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling prescriptions accurately and efficiently. Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, expiration checks, and proper storage following aseptic techniques. Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards. Administer medications under supervision, including IV infusions and medication administration in acute care or hospital environments. Maintain precise documentation of medication dispensing, patient interactions, and inventory logs in accordance with hospital policies. Apply aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate critical care procedures and ensure timely medication delivery for LTC (Long-Term Care) patients or those requiring specialized pharmacy services. Skills Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication management processes. Critical care experience or LTC pharmacy background is highly desirable for handling complex medication regimens. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care and communication. Knowledge of IV infusion procedures, aseptic technique, and hospital pharmacy operations. Strong organizational skills for managing intake, inventory control, and documentation accuracy. Ability to work effectively in acute care settings requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Familiarity with medical equipment used in hospital pharmacy environments and medication administration procedures.
