Responsibilities Perform 25-30 venipuncture procedures per day using straight and butterfly needles with a high level of accuracy and care. Collect blood samples following proper identification, labeling, and handling protocols to ensure specimen integrity. Document all procedures and patient information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Assist around the office as needed, supporting clinical and administrative tasks to maintain an efficient workflow. Follow established safety, infection control, and quality standards during all blood draw procedures. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and colleagues to provide a positive and reassuring experience. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of daily responsibilities. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area to support efficient patient care. Essential Skills Proven phlebotomy skills with experience performing blood draws using straight and butterfly needles. 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or similar healthcare setting. Ability to perform 25-30 blood draws per day while maintaining accuracy and patient comfort. Experience working within an electronic medical record (EMR) system. Phlebotomy certification (preferred and strongly valued). Strong reliability and punctuality, with a consistent record of attendance. Ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail for accurate labeling, documentation, and specimen handling. Additional Skills & Qualifications Formal phlebotomy training or completion of a recognized phlebotomy program. Phlebotomy certification from an accredited organization is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients in a calm and professional manner. Adaptability to assist with various office tasks beyond phlebotomy when needed. Comfort using basic computer systems and EMR software for documentation. Ability to follow clinical protocols, policies, and procedures with minimal supervision. Work Environment This role is based in a clinical office setting with a focus on patient-facing phlebotomy services. The regular schedule is Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts throughout the week as available. Initial training occurs Monday through Friday during the first three weeks, with training hours scheduled anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You will work with standard phlebotomy equipment, including straight and butterfly needles, and use an electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation. The environment is collaborative and team-oriented, with an emphasis on reliability, professionalism, and high-quality patient care. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longmeadow, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
