Job Title:
Phlebotomist Are you a dedicated, detail-oriented healthcare professional with a passion for venipuncture? Join our team as a Phlebotomist in our Laboratory and play a pivotal role in helping the patient care team provide safe, effective, and exceptional patient care. A sign-on bonus of $1,500 is available for an experienced Phlebotomist. About Speare Memorial Hospital Speare Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital serving dozens of communities in the Lakes Region. What You'll Do:
Maintain phlebotomy stations and trays - ensure all stations are properly supplied and sanitary Greet patients in a courteous manner, ensuring you are serving the correct patient by performing Positive Patient ID (PPID) Use proper technique in obtaining blood samples, understanding the need to seek help after 2 missed tries Dispose of used needles in the appropriate containers, ensuring needles are never re-capped Use time between tests efficiently: perform office work, assist technical staff, put away supplies, submit laboratory charges, scan patient results into the Laboratory Information System, and complete other duties as necessary Seek information or ask for assistance from appropriate personnel regarding patients who present difficulties
What We're Looking For:
Required:
High School Graduate or equivalent Completion of phlebotomy certification program or Medical Assistant course Good customer service/interpersonal skills; detail-oriented; have good manual dexterity
Preferred:
At least 3 months' phlebotomy experience Experience in a hospital setting preferred Certification through national credentialing association such as American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians Why Join Speare Memorial Hospital?
