Job Title:
Phlebotomist II - Dover Job Description As a Phlebotomist II, you will play a crucial role in assisting with various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. Your primary function will be to perform blood draws and other specimen collections while maintaining high standards of patient care and specimen integrity. Responsibilities Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately. Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data. Decontaminate and update patient information as needed. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods clearly and courteously. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Understand all physicians' orders thoroughly. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match the script 100%. Package specimens for transport, maintaining required temperature and integrity. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, as required. Minimum of 6 months of work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma orGED. 2-4
years of experience in phlebotomy, blood draw, venipuncture, and specimen collection. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2 years of experience in a relevant field. Work Environment This position operates Monday through Friday during the first shift, providing a structured work schedule in a lab or hospital setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dover, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
