Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physical Education and Health educator to inspire students to lead active, healthy lifestyles while fostering their overall well-being. In this role, you will design engaging physical education programs, promote health literacy, and support students' physical and emotional development. Your enthusiasm and expertise will motivate students to develop lifelong fitness habits, teamwork skills, and a positive attitude toward health and wellness. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive physical education curricula that incorporate sports coaching, fitness routines, and movement activities aligned with educational standards. Design lesson plans that integrate classroom management strategies, childhood development principles, and learning technology tools to enhance student engagement. Foster a safe, inclusive environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and respect among students of diverse backgrounds. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative evaluations, and performance observations; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Mentor students in developing healthy habits, goal setting, and self-management skills while supporting their social-emotional development. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, special education accommodations, and extracurricular activities related to health and sports programs. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school administration regarding student progress, behavior management strategies, and program enhancements. Skills Strong knowledge of physical education principles, sports coaching techniques, and health education best practices. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management tailored for working with children. Excellent communication skills for public speaking, mentoring students, and collaborating with staff. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and literacy education strategies relevant to health topics. Experience in working with students with diverse needs including special education or private school environments. Ability to utilize learning technology tools effectively for instructional purposes. Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style or AP style for educational writing and copy editing tasks related to curriculum materials or reports.
