You will provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to junior Radiological Control Technicians (RCT) at their worksites and develop them to their full potential. You will plan work, set priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work, and assign work to subordinates. You will approve and disapprove leave, certify timecards, establish performance standards and evaluates performance of employees. You will provide on-scene radiological control responses for actual or potential radiological emergencies. You will act as the radiological control representative on teams that include Production supervisors and technical code representatives at different levels. You will prepare or direct the preparation of all reports and other required radiological control documents related to work assignments. You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, coordinating, and executing radiological control (RADCON) surveillances of nuclear operations to assess potential problems and enforce adherence to established policies, procedures, and radiological control concepts; preparing technical reports of findings; and providing on-the-job coaching and mentoring of junior RADCON personnel. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing radiological control (RADCON) surveillances of nuclear operations to assess potential problems and enforce adherence to established policies, procedures, and radiological control concepts; and recommending changes to work plans or procedures to improve radiological controls, correct deficiencies, and minimize exposure to radiation.
