Job Description

Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay is a healthcare company that provides orthopaedic care and skilled physical therapy. We offer a full range of services for clients with orthopedic problems, work-related injuries, sports injuries, and various orthopaedic conditions. We strive to provide quality care to our patients, a warm work environment where patients and employees can prosper. We are looking for a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at our new Apollo Beach office located at 7231 Paradiso Dr., Apollo Beach, FL 33572.
Basic Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the manager of Physical Therapy, you will work with the Physical Therapists providing patient care. Other duties include cleaning/preparing treatment areas and assisting with appointment scheduling when necessary. Will also be cross-trained to assist with front desk tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides Therapy services established by the Physical Therapist in accordance with the patient's Plan of Care, clinic policies, and procedures. Devise, prepare, and administer modalities for patient treatment as outlined by the therapist, and according to clinic standard of treatment. Communicate with clinicians to ensure a consistent level of care. Writes progress notes in patients' physical therapy records documenting reaction and response to treatment. Maintains accurate records of therapy treatments performed while keeping information confidential. Assist with maintaining a safe and clean work area Stock linen and prepare treatment areas daily; treatment areas to be maintained throughout each working day. Clean hydro collator according to infection control policies and procedures. Perform reception duties as needed. Greet all patients and visitors in a courteous manner. Assist with the maintenance of patients' medical records. Schedule appointments according to clinic policy as needed. Understand and follow all OMG policies and procedures. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Maintains valid licensure, certification, or equivalent as requested by appropriate state agency. Experience:
Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Florida (Required) Prefer at least one year experience however, new graduates will be considered. Good verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills to interact with patients. Spanish Speaking is a plus.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED
Standard office and clinical equipment. Requires use of computer and electronic medical record (EMR) as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
A combination of office and clinical setting. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical/mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, or hear. Daily job-related interactions will require the employee to push, pull, bend, squat, or demonstrate exercises. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing 5 to 30 lbs or more. May assist patients as needed, helping them on and off the exam table, or pushing wheelchairs. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Stress can be triggered by workload and complex cases.
