Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity making a direct impact in a supportive educational setting. We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to collaborate with school staff and students during the June Extended School Year (ESY) session. Based close to Lees Summit, MO, this role is ideal for those looking to work part-time, offering approximately 22-25 hours weekly from June 1st through June 25th. As the sole PT for this period, you'll engage with a variety of student needs in a flexible, summertime environment. Specific caseload information will be provided closer to assignment start, ensuring you are fully informed and prepared to succeed within the ESY framework.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Physical Therapist license issued by the state of Missouri Previous experience in a school-based PT role is highly desired Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to adjust therapeutic strategies to meet the diverse needs of students Reliable access to virtual meeting technology for Zoom-based interviews
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct physical therapy services to students in compliance with IEP goals and service plans Assess, document, and report on student progress and interventions Consult with educators and staff to integrate therapeutic recommendations into classroom routines Adapt to varying caseloads and site expectations within the June ESY schedule Maintain compliance with state and district policies throughout service delivery This contract presents a unique summer schedule, allowing for meaningful school-based work while maintaining flexibility.
