Job Description
Job Description The Physical Therapy Assistant at Paradigm Health System includes: Executes daily physical therapy treatments under supervision of a physical therapist to patients which may include exercise and other rehabilitation techniques and regulations appropriate to the ages of patients served. Provides daily physical therapy with ongoing input and feedback for patient reassessment. Coordinates with Physical Therapy Department to provide for patient`s timely discharge and treatment continuation. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the ages of patients served. Completes daily treatment schedule/assignment. Completes daily patients billing prior to the end of shift. Coordinates Inservice training within the Department for PT staff. Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores. Assists as needed physical therapist in providing patient and family education, including but not limited to, exercise programs and assistance in understanding physician`s diagnosis. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the ages of patients served. Performs as needed in-service programs for both departmental and Paradigm staff. Participates in and assists with the development of an ongoing quality assurance plan. The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue. The employee works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role. Education Associate degree in Physical Therapy and two years' experience or Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy Five years' experience in Orthopedics and/or Sports medicine and/or prior Physical Therapy Assistant experience required. Work Experience Required -1 year of physical therapy Tech or like experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Excellent judgment and decision-making skills and ability to deal with a variety of patients and diagnoses. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to travel throughout and between facilities if need be.Job Type:
