Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Alleviate Pain and Spine is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented physician assistant or nurse practitioner. This role offers career growth and a supportive work environment in an ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include clinical duties necessary to provide quality patient care in a medical group practice setting. In this role, you will play a critical role in helping to alleviate the debilitating pain that your patients live with, often preventing them from doing daily activities. Responsibilities include office evaluation of new and follow-up patients to assess response to interventional pain procedures, formulate continued care plans, manage medication, provide post-surgical follow-up, and provide procedure counseling and scheduling. As your clinical skills progress, you will have the opportunity to be trained to perform basic office-based injections to help expedite care as appropriate. Interventional Pain PA/NP responsibilities:
Perform direct patient care positively and professionally while effectively collaborating with the supervising physician Review and interpret patient's medical information such as labs, imaging, procedure history, allergies, prescriptions, medical history, and medications. Educate patients on the procedure(s) that will be performed, pre-operation instructions, and what they can expect. Manage chronic medication for pain per state law including urine drug screens, pill counts, up-to-date opioid agreements, and effective documentation of therapeutic use. Provide health education, including self-care and wellness issues, to patients and their families. Compliance with state and federal law. Administrative tasks related to patient care coordination. The successful candidate will be hired at a level commensurate with licensure and/or certification.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Interventional Pain PA/NP requirement(s): Applicant must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Proficient computer skills are a plus. Individuals must be compassionate and enjoy helping others. Empathy and patience are highly valued qualities that one must possess. They must have the ability to give and follow directions effectively. Graduate of an accredited PA/ NP program Current
PA/NP/RN
licensure in Wisconsin Current DEA licensure in Wisconsin BLS and ACLS certifications Prior surgical assist experience is preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED FOR ALL POSITIONS
Direct patient care in a healthcare facility. Ambulatory medical office setting. Experience with eClinicalWorks
EMR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This individual will be walking and standing for approximately 60% of the workday. They must be able to lift approximately 15 pounds unassisted. Reaching and stretching intermittently are required for assisting patients in the ambulatory setting. Must possess the degree of total body strength and flexibility necessary to assist patients with transfers and mobility. Must be able to lift approximately 200 lb. patient with the help of several other health care workers. Patients are assisted in ambulating from the waiting room to the exam rooms and back. Portable O2 tanks are lifted onto racks from the floor to stretchers or wheelchairs. Must possess the degree of respiratory volume and upper body strength to perform CPR and other patient care treatments. Must be able to stretch, reach, and retrieve equipment from supply carts and to bend to reach equipment stored below the waist.
