Job Description

About the Role Our client is looking for a physician (MD or DO) to join them at an outpatient practice in Philadelphia suburbs (Delco). This is a part time or contract opportunity for up to 20-24 hours /per week with an opportunity to expand to full time as the practice expands. The locations will vary and may range from Bala Cynwyd to West Chester, PA.
Responsibilities:
1) Provide compassionate primary care services for a geriatric and/or disabled patients including comprehensive and focused physical examinations, health assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses 2) Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, congestive heart failure, arthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and thyroid disorders 3) Assess need for appropriate lab tests, order and interpret results 4) Collaborate with medical specialties through appropriate referrals 5) Assist in coordination of community resources to meet needs of individuals and families, as well as appropriate follow-up. 6) Educate patients on health promotion throughout the aging process 7) Establishes and monitors appropriate level of care for center patients. 8) Completes all medical record documentation prior to end of shift. 9) Works with Medical Director to ensure operations are consistent with medical and professional standards of care. 10) Recommends potential growth opportunities for new or existing services. 11) Meets with Medical Director or designate to discuss quality of patient care, review policies, procedures, outcomes reports, and records. 12) Participates in quality management processes including encouragement of clinical support staff to assure proficiency in the delivery of clinical support activities. 13) Calls patients to ensure their well-being as needed following center visits. 14) In the absence of Medical Director, provides guidance to other medical personnel and center colleagues.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Assures personal compliance with licensing, certification and accrediting bodies. Current, clear, and active license to practice medicine (MD or DO) in Pennsylvania Experience in Primary healthcare is preferred; geriatric certification is a plus as well as psychiatric medicine. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with other clinical team members. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, billing systems, coding standards, and care coordination programs is desired. Must have excellent communication skills with our patient population. Eligible for Medicare and Medicaid (not sanctioned) Client will provide benefits allowance as well as malpractice and tail insurance.
