Job Title:
Pipe Installer Job Description The Pipe Installer assembles, installs, and secures piping systems and related components in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. This role measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipes using hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality installations in industrial environments. Responsibilities Install, assemble, and secure pipes, fittings, and related components according to blueprints, schematics, and specifications. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery. Inspect worksite conditions and prepare all required materials, tools, and equipment prior to installation. Test piping systems for leaks, pressure integrity, and proper operation using appropriate methods and equipment. Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to coordinate installation activities and resolve field issues. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and any changes made to the piping systems. Follow all OSHA, company, and industry safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures. Troubleshoot and repair existing piping systems as needed to restore proper function. Perform general construction and installation tasks such as duct work, sheet metal work, and related fabrication as required. Use tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure precise layout and alignment of piping and duct systems. Essential Skills Proven experience in industrial pipefitting, plumbing, or mechanical installation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings. Proficiency with pipe installation tools, including threaders, cutters, welders, torches, and related equipment. Strong understanding of industrial materials such as steel, copper, PVC, cast iron, sheet metal, and specialty alloys. Hands-on experience with HVAC installation, duct work, duct installation, and general construction tasks. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery for pipe and duct fabrication and installation. Knowledge of OSHA and industry safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures. Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and operate in industrial environments. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Completion of a trade school program or formal apprenticeship in pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC, or a related mechanical trade is preferred. Experience working with fabrication of piping and duct systems in industrial or construction settings. Ability to work effectively with engineers, supervisors, and other trades in a team-based environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, code-compliant installations. Capability to maintain clear, accurate records of work performed and materials used. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Jeffersonville, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
