Job Description

The Pipefitter/Plumber is responsible for building equipment for neutralizing and moving industrial wastewater, purifying water for: industrial, pharmaceutical, educational, and municipal uses and equipment for the collection and use of ground and rain water. The Plumber will assemble and install pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for industrial production and processing systems.
Essential Functions:
Ability to decipher blueprints or other related documents for tank/ water treatment and fluid handling equipment assembly layout. Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, pipe threaders and benders. Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, and fittings by cementing, soldering, and threading joints. Attach pipes to structures and fixtures, such as tanks, using brackets. Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods. Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading. Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following blueprints. Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications. Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications. Verifying dimensions using measuring instruments (tape measures, rulers, framing and t squares, etc.) for layouts.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma (required) 3-5 years of experience in Industrial Plumbing preferred. Commercial plumbing experience also considered. Knowledge in mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical drawings. General knowledge of equipment safety and operation (preferably Osha 10, LOTO, Confined space, fall protection, CPR, Forklift, (etc) - but will train/certify Familiar with fabricating equipment and machinery
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to safely operate a forklift Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Must be able to sit for long periods of time Must be able to walk and be on feet 80% of the day Must be able to bend, reach, kneel and squat
