As a small business, we value the close relationships we build with our clients and the dedication of our team. •Job Overview• We are seeking a dependable, proactive Plant Assistant to support daily operations at our paper and plastic bag manufacturing facility. This role works closely with the Plant Manager to oversee production, maintenance, quality control, and inventory while ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing operations. The Plant Assistant will play a key role in coordinating production activities, addressing operational challenges, and helping drive continuous improvement across the plant. Due to the dynamic nature of manufacturing, daily responsibilities will vary. The ideal candidate is adaptable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working hands-on in a production environment while also handling supervisory and administrative responsibilities.

Due to the nature of your job, your daily tasks will change. You must be able to adapt well into different situations and have a positive mentality while tackling various and challenging issues that may arise. Production & Operations Support Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing day-to-day production operations, including planning, purchasing, material allocation and inventory management (paper and plastic). Team Coordination & Leadership Support and guide production staff to ensure proper machine operation, workflow, and adherence to procedures. Help train new employees on equipment operation, safety practices, and quality expectations. Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement. Machine Maintenance & Reliability Assist in coordinating routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to minimize downtime. Work closely with the Plant Manager and maintenance personnel to address mechanical issues and support preventative maintenance efforts. Ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently at all times. Quality Control Support quality control processes by monitoring in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements. Assist in identifying root causes of quality issues and implementing corrective actions. Inventory & Supplier Coordination Monitor parts, materials, and supply inventory levels. Assist with ordering machine parts, tools, and production supplies as needed. Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve supply-related issues. Reporting & Documentation Provide daily updates to the Plant Manager regarding machine status, production output, maintenance concerns, and quality issues. Assist with basic production tracking, inventory records, and operational documentation. Safety & Compliance Support plant safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Promote a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment. Monitor production flow to ensure schedules, output targets, and quality standards are met. Identify production issues, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies and assist in implementing corrective actions.Qualifications and Skills:
1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment preferred. Prior experience in packaging, paper, plastics, or related manufacturing is a plus. Ability to work in a factory environment and take a hands-on approach when needed. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial machinery (or willingness to learn). Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Strong communication skills and ability to work well with production teams and management. Comfortable using basic computer systems for reporting, inventory tracking, and ordering. Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as required.Job Type:
