Job Description:
The Plant Engineer provides hands-on engineering and project management support for manufacturing operations, with a focus on capital projects, process improvement, safety, and cost reduction. This role partners closely with plant leadership to ensure reliable equipment performance, standardized utilities, and a safe, high-quality production environment.
Salary Range:
$95,000-$115,000
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead manufacturing engineering projects, including scope development, cost justification, timelines, and execution
  • Identify and implement cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives
  • Support workflow optimization, labor efficiency, packaging improvements, and freight cost analysis
  • Develop and maintain standardized plant utility systems
  • Support safety initiatives, including lockout/tagout and arc flash programs
  • Develop equipment documentation, training materials, and preventive maintenance schedules
  • Support the design, improvement, and fabrication of internally developed and purchased manufacturing equipment
Required Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (plastics processing preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related)
  • 2D CAD drafting skills for layouts and equipment requests; 3D modeling experience a plus
  • Basic knowledge of industrial power distribution and control systems
  • Familiarity with ladder logic; pneumatic control design is a plus
