The Plant Maintenance Associates are responsible for the safe repair, maintenance and fabrication of all mining equipment typically found in a sand mining facility including pumps, conveyors, bucket elevators, screen decks, cyclones, dust collectors, dryer drums, silos, etc. This individual is also responsible for pre-shift inspections, and using maintenance software to requisition parts, report labor, document equipment history, and complete work orders timely and accurately. Basic computer skills to document work and manage service orders in maintenance software. Working knowledge of mine/industrial safety expectations; familiarity with MSHA regulations preferred. The work schedule for this position must remain flexible, with a willingness to adjust as needed to accommodate plant demands and scheduled maintenance downtimes. Ability to receive medical clearance to wear respiratory protection and pass toxicity testing. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces, and work in varying weather conditions. This role requires consistent adherence to safety requirements, including appropriate PPE and fall protection, hazard recognition, and housekeeping standards. Work must be performed in compliance with applicable company policies and regulatory requirements (including MSHA/OSHA and environmental guidelines). Perform routine and preventive maintenance on dry and screen plant equipment (screens, conveyors, bucket elevators, dryers, dust collectors, silos). Inspect equipment for wear, misalignment, and failing components; complete corrective repairs to restore safe operation. Maintain and repair conveyors including belt splicing, tensioning, guarding, lubrication, and pulley/bearing inspections. Troubleshoot mechanical failures, identify root cause, and implement effective repairs to reduce repeat downtime. Remove, clean, and replace dust collector and silo filter bags to support air quality and environmental compliance. Complete welding, cutting/torching, fabrication, and mechanical modifications to improve reliability and performance. Use maintenance software to document work, requisition parts, record labor, and close service orders in a timely manner.
