POSITION SUMMARY
The planner and inventory specialist must ensure procedures for scheduling and inventory are complied with in order to maximize customer service and efficiency of the Amherst facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Schedule production of parts in the Molded facility, which includes using Marmon Utility ERP system (Axiom) to maintain, review and release planned orders. Coordinate with supervisors to prioritize important orders Manage schedule postings for ease of access and clarity Develop forecasting models for production recommendations Conduct weekly cycle counts of raw materials and consumables Identify, reconcile, and root cause analysis inventory discrepancies Lead physical inventory twice a year Work with purchasing to ensure supply of raw materials Ensure accuracy of part routings for raw material consumption Evaluate safety stock levels Work with the warehouse for raw material availability Coordinate with sales, product management and finance to move E&O inventory Schedule openings for Engineering R D and Automation Apply lean methodology to build scheduling strategy. Kanban, Supermarkets, ETC. Manage offsite inventory and schedule deliveries Plan, order and Communicate material shortages with Production and Sales Sustain and maintain plant KPIs including On Time Delivery, cycle count accuracy, Up time and downtime. Support routing accuracy for both Axiom and live monitoring systems.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Must demonstrate a very strong aptitude for learning and working with systems and technology. Strong foundational skills in mathematics, reading, writing, and verbal and written communication. Proficiency in accurate and efficient data entry. Ability to understand, follow, and work effectively within established policies and procedures. Must be well organized. Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must be adept at troubleshooting and problem solving. Must be able to innovate. Must be able to work independently and efficiently with multiple deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office knowledge, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Experience with Axiom ERP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems a plus.
