Annual Potential:
Earn over $100k annually (hourly, overtime, commission, bonus, etc.) On-site in Chapel Hill, TN Job Summary As a Plumber (Install & Service), you will complete high‑quality residential plumbing installations, including system replacements, remodel work, and new construction projects. You will be responsible for installing plumbing systems safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local codes while delivering a professional customer experience. This role requires clear communication with homeowners regarding installation timelines, system operation, and available upgrade options, helping customers make informed decisions when the time is right. You will also perform testing and quality checks to ensure each installation meets company standards and delivers long‑term performance. Weekly customer service and technical training, additional offsite specialty training offered Company-supplied vehicle New technology, including iPad & access to integrated software Tasks, Duties, & Responsibilities Installation— Install residential plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drain and vent systems, fixtures, faucets, water heaters, tankless systems, and related components Perform full plumbing installations for remodels, replacements, and new construction projects according to job specifications and blueprints Remove and replace outdated or failing plumbing systems with updated, code-compliant installations Read, interpret, and apply blueprints, plumbing diagrams, and installation plans accurately Ensure all installations meet local plumbing codes, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards Perform pressure testing, leak testing, and operational checks on newly installed systems Coordinate with homeowners, project managers, inspectors, and other trades to ensure smooth job completion Communicate installation timelines, system operation, and care instructions clearly to customers Identify additional installation opportunities or system upgrades and communicate findings to leadership when appropriate Maintain a professional appearance and jobsite, ensuring cleanliness and safety throughout the installation process Load, transport, and properly use tools, equipment, and materials required for plumbing installations Accurately complete installation documentation, permits, and required job paperwork Participate in ongoing technical training and manufacturer-specific installation training Mentor and assist apprentices during installation projects to ensure efficient, high-quality workmanship Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices at all times Service— Maintain and repair residential plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems Inspect plumbing systems to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with local codes Ask customers about the right lifestyle and usage questions to accurately diagnose plumbing issues Perform routine plumbing maintenance and general in-home service calls Diagnose plumbing systems for leaks, clogs, pressure issues, and mechanical failures Clean, clear, adjust, and repair plumbing components, including drains, sewer lines, and fixtures Identify and explain replacement opportunities for outdated, inefficient, or failing plumbing systems Perform some installation work as needed, though the primary focus is service and repair Present yourself as professional and knowledgeable to earn customer trust, referrals, and repeat business Develop strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read blueprints and plumbing diagrams Build customer rapport to recommend the right products and services Educate and guide customers in choosing repair options, maintenance plans, and financing solutions Understand performance metrics and take ownership of meeting or exceeding revenue goals Follow company procedures to resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively Work closely with dispatch and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations Maintain a clean, organized job site and a well-stocked service vehicle Participate in training sessions, meetings, and ongoing professional development Train and mentor apprentices to ensure efficient and accurate service work Complete invoices, timecards, and service documentation accurately and on time Required Skills & Experience Knowledge of local Plumbing codes and the ability to make on-the-job applications Plumbing certifications and licenses (strongly preferred) Minimum 3 years of applicable experience (Installation and/or Service) Valid Driver's license with a safe driving record Must have own tools (assistance may be available) Excellent customer service and communication skills Professional appearance, strong work ethic, and great attitude Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities High integrity with advanced social skills and the ability to make solid connections Strong desire to be a better technician tomorrow than you are today Competitive individual contributor who also loves to win as a team Who We Are At the Air Guys, we pride ourselves on being able to deliver dependable and economical service to all of our customers.
