Job Description
The PMC-OM Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing production planning, material control, inventory management, and shipping coordination activities within manufacturing operations. This role provides leadership and operational direction while ensuring alignment between production schedules, inventory accuracy, and shipment execution. This role serves as a key liaison between U.S. and Mexico-site operations and collaborates cross-functionally with PMC, Purchasing, Quality, Customs, Logistics, IT, Warehouse, and Manufacturing teams to drive operational efficiency, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Operational Leadership Lead daily production planning execution and monitor schedule adherence across manufacturing departments. Oversee manufacturing order flow throughout WIP, assembly, testing, and store-in processes. Review and approve manufacturing order adjustments and planning changes within SAP. Facilitate escalation management related to production delays, engineering changes, or material shortages. Drive operational readiness and support production line start-ups to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing flow. Analyze production performance metrics and implement corrective action plans as needed. Material Control & Inventory Oversight Supervise material replenishment activities and ensure timely material availability for production. Lead inventory control initiatives including cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and audit preparation. Monitor and resolve issues involving scrap, RTV, excess, or defective materials. Ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company procedures and operational standards. Develop and maintain inventory reporting dashboards and KPI tracking. Shipping, Logistics & Cross-Border Coordination Oversee STO and DN creation processes for domestic and cross-border shipments. Ensure on-time shipment execution and coordination with warehouse and logistics teams. Partner with Customs, Logistics, and Mexico-site teams to ensure smooth cross-border operations. Escalate and resolve shipment-related system or operational issues in collaboration with IT. Monitor shipping performance metrics and identify process improvement opportunities. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and operational support to PMC-OM Associates. Coordinate cross-functional meetings with Production, TE, QA, IT, and Warehouse teams to address operational priorities. Support staffing, onboarding, and training activities for new employees. Promote compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures. Assist management in implementing continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives. Reporting & Process Improvement Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports. Analyze operational trends, inventory performance, and shipment metrics to support decision-making. Support automation and reporting improvements using Power BI, Power Automate, and SharePoint. Recommend and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce risk.Education:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferredMinimum Qualifications:
5-8 years of experience in production planning, material control, logistics, or manufacturing operations. Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, and SAP systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting cross-border manufacturing or logistics operations. Knowledge of inventory control methodologies and operational KPIs. Experience leading process improvement or Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during operational oversight activities. Frequent movement between production, warehouse, and shipping areas. Ability to review operational data, reports, and inventory documentation accurately. Occasional handling of operational materials or documentation. Ability to respond quickly to production or logistics issues on the manufacturing floor.Work Environment:
Manufacturing and warehouse operational environment with frequent cross-functional interaction. Fast-paced production setting with high-volume operational demands and shipment deadlines. Combination of office-based administrative work and active floor support. Frequent coordination with U.S. and Mexico-site teams. May require schedule flexibility to support operational priorities and urgent shipment needs.
