Job Description

Position Overview This position requires the provision of excellent customer service to clients/patients from both the account we partner with and the pharmacy.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active and in good standing Registered Pharmacy Technician license in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in oral and infusion pharmacy desired,
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and initiative in processing prescriptions.
  • Basic knowledge or familiarity in medical terminology and diagnostic codes.
  • Basic knowledge or familiarity with insurance verification, healthcare benefits assessment and paperwork.
  • Bilingual is preferred Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a safe and clean office environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Abiding by all Med-Care Infusion & all the partner locations Policies and Procedures. Learn how to use the pharmacy software (Prime RX), E-script and Electronic medical record (EMR) software. Send prescription orders via E-Script verifying/enclosing: Name, Address, DOB, Allergies, S.S or Medicare#, insurance and best phone number to contact patient or caregiver. Assists Doctor or nurses to prepare orders. (Synchronize medications or sending notes of visits if needed) Learn in house pharmacy process to better comprehend status and process of all filling order medications. Learn how to use "On Time" software to capture signature and HIPPA verification upon patient picking up and/or receiving their medications. Understands how to handle process and appropriately dispose of all waste materials, including all levels of hazardous waste, within the department. (In case patients return or want to dispose any medication) Helps communicate back order/out-of-stock medications to patients, doctors, and nurses (if needed recommend to change to an alternative drug). Commute from location assigned to the pharmacy and in between locations demanding the need of assistance. Train and evaluate personnel to make sure they are fully trained in all areas needed by the location assigned. Continue the training for internal update version of the software, making sure all technicians are aware of changes and can implement enhancements provided by software and development team. 12. Helps patients by greeting them in person and by the phone. 13. Type prescription orders 14. Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication. 15. Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to patients, computes charges, and enters data in computer. 16. Ensure compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct and all applicable laws, including HIPAA regulations for the protection of sensitive information. 17. Perform any additional duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization.
