Previous experience, current enrollment or graduate of an accredited police academy preferred but not required. Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• 21 years of age at time of appointment
• Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent
• Able to obtain Missouri POST class "A" Lateral transfers who possess or qualify for a State of Missouri POST class "A" certification will be evaluated in conjunction with their education/work experience. Visit the Missouri POST website for additional information.
• Selected applicants must also pass a comprehensive written exam, polygraph exam, psychological exam and medical exam.
• Applicants will also undergo a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening.
