Job Summary As a sworn law enforcement, you work under the general direction of a ranking officer, supervisor or Police Chief. You will need to enforce laws, investigate complaints, enforce traffic laws, maintain order, assist people, identify criminal activity, issue citations to and arrest offenders, testify in court, prepare reports, identify and collect evidence, identify the source of problems in our community and work with our law enforcement and community partners to resolve them. As you develop your knowledge, skills and abelites you may be eligible to apply for specialty assignments, such as evidence technician, tactical instructor, evidence/property custodian, community intervention team, peer support, preventive programming, critical incident / emergency management, field training officer, and more. Education Requirements High school diploma A minimum of 60 college credits is required to submit an application for this position. An Associate Degree is not required, but is preferred.
