Reports To:

Job Summary Entry level crime prevention and law enforcement responsibilities including, but not limited to, routine patrols, preliminary investigations, and traffic control duties for the City of Kountze during an assigned shift. D. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Patrols City of Kountze to discourage crime. Observes law violations and takes appropriate action. 2. Respond to emergency calls (disturbances, burglaries, prowler, suspicious persons, first aid, etc.) and takes appropriate actions. 3. Secures scene of crime and arrests suspect(s) of misdemeanors or felonies. 4. Directs traffic. Issues citations and investigates accidents. 5. Prepares patrol reports, offense reports, arrest reports, and any other paperwork necessary in the performance of their duties. 6. Conducts criminal investigations. 7. Guard, transport, and book-in prisoners. 8. Testifies as a witness in court (traffic and criminal) when requested. 9. Maintain vehicle and equipment.
