Job Description

Maintains public safety, enforces laws, and provides assistance to citizens.
POLICE OFFICER
functions include but are not limited to the following:Emergency Response:
Respond to 911 or non-emergency calls for service, providing basic emergency medical services as appropriate. Conduct initial investigations, assess crime scenes, and complete reports. Address city ordinance issues and violations. Assist with warrant services and CID surveillance.Proactive Policing and Community Support:
Initiate proactive patrol activities to deter crime and enforce laws. Conduct self-initiated patrol activities, including traffic enforcement and quality-of-life checks. Attend training to enhance proactive policing skills, obtaining and maintaining certifications as directed. Conduct business checks and security patrols. Work city events to provide security and traffic control.Specific Department Necessities:
Maintain the dog pound, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medications. Perform animal control duties, locating and housing roaming animals. Manage jail activities, including booking, fingerprinting, and feeding prisoners.Homeless Outreach and Mental Health Assistance:
Respond to calls involving homeless individuals, providing assistance. Respond to mental health calls and evaluate needs, transporting individuals to appropriate locations if needed.Criminal Prosecution and Reporting:
Complete offense reports, tag evidence, and appear in court for testimony. Assist outside agencies, promoting interoperability and crime prevention. File warrants through appropriate channels. Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.Testing & Personal History Statement Information:

TCOLE Personal History Statement Currently seeking candidates who meet the following criteria- Age•Twenty-one (21) years of age or older upon appointment Education/Experience•must meet one of the following criteria At least 9 hours of college credit with a cumulative GPA of 3.
- Active Basic Peace Officer license from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) at the time of appointment.
