Police Officer Part-Time

The City of Scurry is searching for the right police officer to join our team. As a small-town officer, in a small department, the qualified candidate must be motivated and able to work well on their own. The candidate must have strong communication skills, be outgoing and willing to get involved in our community. We are looking for an officer who is willing to learn, get additional training and schooling and is not technologically obsolete. Pay will depend on hours worked and experience. We also offer a slower paced environment and family like atmosphere. Part-Time officers are required to work evenings, 24-30 hours a week. Qualifications:

Duties of a police officer include, but are not limited to enforcing Federal, State and Local laws, assisting with code compliance and inspections, assisting fire and EMS, patrol, and helping to improve the quality of life and services for our residents and visitors. Applicants must be Texas certified peace officers, have a valid driver s license, have a high school diploma or GED and must possess strong work ethic and a drive to succeed. Applicants must pass an oral interview, extensive background investigation to include criminal history, driving record, and credit/financial history, physical exam and drug screen.
