Polishing Technician II- 6:45pm-7:00am, 3-4 days a week, OT Available

Position Summary :

Hands-on production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

Role Description:

Operation of cutting, calibration and polishing equipment as well as overhead crane use. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toed shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Responsibilities:

Hands-on production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Assist Shift Leader with the following: employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, back-up for absent employees. Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs). Communicate with other Operators, Assistant Shift Leaders and Shift Leader. Ensure a clean and safe work area. Complete shift paper work. Assist in production as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Listed below are the minimum and/or desired qualifications of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills that are required to perform satisfactorily in the position:

Education and Work Experience:

Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of basic Polishing processes, procedures, and machinery (ex. Calibration, polishing, filter press, crane). Experience in the safe storage and handling of chemicals.
