Portable Sanitation Route Driver Hemley's Septic Service, a trusted and professional septic service company, seeks an experienced Portable Sanitation Route Driver to join our growing Handy-Kan team in Gig Harbor, Washington. Job Summary Hemley's Septic Service seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Route Driver . The ideal candidate will safely and efficiently deliver, service, and pick up portable toilets, hand-washing stations, and other products on customer sites. This role requires a solid commitment to customer service, as you will represent our company in the field, interacting directly with customers to ensure their needs are met and our quality standards are upheld. Hours can vary, and overtime and weekends may be required. About Us Established in 1962, Hemley's Septic Service is a family-owned and operated business in Gig Harbor, Washington. We provide professional septic and drain services to residential and commercial properties throughout Kitsap, Mason, and Pierce counties. Our dedicated team at Hemley's cares deeply about providing our customers with fast, friendly, and reliable services. Responsibilities Safely drive and operate company vehicles on assigned routes while servicing portable toilets at customer sites and events, i.e., pumping, inspecting, cleaning, and restocking supplies. Help prepare, deliver, and set up portable restrooms at customer sites and events, ensuring safe installation, proper placements, and customer satisfaction. Drivers represent Hemley's Septic Service and are expected to be friendly and professional, provide excellent customer service, answer customer questions and concerns, and escalate as necessary. Communicate with dispatchers concerning problems, such as unsafe sites, delays, accidents, traffic conditions, equipment breakdowns, etc. Operate routing software and complete service logs, delivery receipts, and other documentation accurately and promptly. Ensure all vehicles and equipment are operated safely and maintained according to company and legal standards. Work closely with other drivers and warehouse personnel to ensure efficient operations and assist with managing the warehouse and yard. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent. Valid Washington State driver's license and clean driving record. Physical ability to repeatedly lift 75lbs+ and engage in extensive physical activity, including lifting and operating hand and power tools. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, capable of working effectively independently and as part of a team. Possess a strong customer service orientation and a willingness to learn and grow with the company. Flexibility with work hours, participating in a rotating on-call schedule that includes some Saturdays and varying outdoor conditions. The ideal candidate will have one or more years in a service-related role.
