Job Description
SUMMARY:
Support lenders in managing existing loan portfolios and evaluating loan applications for renewals, modifications, and extensions and assist with loan closings. This position will help to maintain and build loans and deposits, fee income, and referrals of business.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position includes the following duties and responsibilities: Employee is responsible to understand and comply with regulatory requirements for financial transactions, most specifically the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) as it relates to specific job functions. Greets customers and provides superior customer service. Exhibits superior customer service as a First State Bank team member. Demonstrates high quality relationship building techniques to ensure the customer receives the best possible solution to his banking and financial needs. Helps promote a loyal relationship between the customer and First State Bank. Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established First State Bank credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines. Partner with the Retail Office Manager as the point of a contact for the client; acting as a liaison to the Credit Department, the lenders and other internal business partners. Maintain portfolio quality by effectively managing past dues, overdrafts, insurance, policy exceptions, ticklers, covenants, loan agreements, borrowing bases and n-drives. Assist lenders with obtaining financial information and other required documentation. Informs credit/lending teams of any documentation issues, including missing documentation and the need for follow-up. Monitor loan repayment activities and financial condition of borrowing clients and take necessary action to collect past due accounts and ongoing repayment ability of all other accounts. Make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank's Loan Committee meetings, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits. Assist with the preparation cashflows and spreads for relationships under $500,000. Backup for Credit Analyst Department when needed. Performs periodic review and files updates, purging when necessary. Review Appraisals Review loan documents prior to closing. Attend loan closings and meetings with customers. Responsible for identifying cross sales opportunities of all bank products. Participates in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank. Participates in developing a teamwork atmosphere with co-workers as part of department/branch location by attending meetings, participating in discussions, treating co-workers with respect and courtesy, and contributing to bank goals. Has a responsibility to stay abreast of bank communications by reading publications, announcements and bank e-mails, etc. Takes advantage of appropriate communication channels regarding bank-related business matters. Develop personal skills and capabilities through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Bank approval. Uphold and safeguard the organization's values particularly relating to ethics, integrity, and confidentiality both internally and externally.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Credit Analyst experience preferred; 4 year degree or equivalent of 5-7 years related experience.COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products with the ability to prepare various spreadsheets and free-style reports.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional and financial documents. Ability to write reports and professional correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of bank and respond effectively to questions from customers and Bank personnel.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply moderately complex mathematical equations as applicable.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
