FullTime Who is Saint Louis University? Founded in 1818, Saint Louis University is one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious Catholic universities. SLU, which also has a campus in Madrid, Spain, is recognized for world-class academics, life-changing research, compassionate health care, and a strong commitment to faith and service. An opportunity for a postdoctoral scholar is available in Dr. Sahin K. Ozdemir's group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Saint Louis University, for highly motivated scientists with strong background in the theory of non-Hermitian photonics. The successful candidate will be joining a team of theorists and experimentalists and will primarily carry out research on non-Hermitian classical and quantum photonic systems. The candidate is expected to work closely with the experimentalists in the team and supervise and train graduate students.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or Optical Sciences.
  • Proven track record in the fields in one or more of the fields mentioned above.
  • Proven experience in integrated and free-space optics.
  • Advanced programming and simulation skills in Matlab, LabView, Comsol or Lumerical are highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently, both under supervision and as a part of a team.
Term/Availability:
This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
