Job Description

Postdoctoral Research Associate
  • Oncology University of Washington, United States about 8 hours ago
Location:
Medical Lake, WASHINGTON
Job Type:
FullTime Position Summary Postdoctoral Research (Scholar or Associate) Position Open in the Jaebok Choi Lab in Department of Medicine, Division of Oncology. Area of expertise: Transplant Immunology focused on T cells. The Choi Lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on T cell biology in mouse models of diseases, including, but not limited to, graft-vs-host disease (GvHD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and/or experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). Using unbiased genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 guide RNA library screens and whole kinome analyses, we have identified promising novel therapeutic targets such as VLDLR, GAS6/TAM, and PKN1 whose targeting may separate the inflammatory diseases from the beneficial healthy immune responses, such as graft-vs-leukemia/tumor effects, anti-tumor and anti-infection responses. For translational approaches, the postdoctoral researcher may occasionally analyze human patient samples. In addition to high-quality research facilities, career and professional development training for postdoctoral researchers is provided through the Career Center, Teaching Center, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, and campus groups.
