Job Title:
Pourer / Production Operator Job Description The Pourer / Production Operator works directly in the manufacturing area to support the safe and efficient production of stone products. This role is responsible for pouring and finishing molds, stacking and shoveling excess mix, removing stone from molds, painting and coloring molds, inspecting product quality, and packing finished products accurately. The position also includes maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards and safety policies. Responsibilities Safely stack and shovel excess mix into mold cavities to ensure proper fill and product consistency. Pour, finish, and stack molds while maintaining required product quality and appearance. Apply color to molds using spray or brush according to established quality standards. Apply cleaning spray to molds and clean molds regularly to reduce over-pour and improve product quality. Remove stones from molds carefully and pack them into boxes, ensuring the correct quantity and configuration are packed. Inspect stones for quality, checking for air bubbles, color consistency, deformations, and other defects, and take appropriate action when issues are identified. Scrape excess cement from molds and pull cement into corners and edges to achieve complete and uniform coverage. Ensure all packaging materials, including labels, staples, box type, and box assembly, comply with required standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in accordance with safety policies and procedures. Follow all company safety policies and procedures and use required personal protective equipment. Respect scheduled rotation of breaks and lunches and adhere to attendance and timeliness expectations. Perform other related duties as assigned by department or area leadership to support production needs. Assist and perform duties across various production lines and positions when additional help is required. Communicate promptly with appropriate personnel when changes, issues, or problems occur in the production process. Follow directions accurately and complete tasks with minimal supervision while contributing as a cooperative team member. Essential Skills At least 6 months of manufacturing experience performing heavy manual labor. Experience with general labor tasks such as stacking, shoveling, and manual handling of materials. Ability to perform general production work, including stacking skids and finishing molds. Excellent safety awareness and a strong attendance record. Knowledge of mold textures and stone color variations, or the ability to learn these quickly. Ability to apply OSHA safety standards related to the role and work environment. Basic reading, writing, and numerical skills to follow instructions, labels, and production documentation. Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors when changes or problems occur. Capability to follow directions and perform tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Willingness and ability to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed. Physical ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficient forklift driving skills with current forklift certification preferred. Strong communication and presentation skills when interacting with team members and leadership. Demonstrated reliability in previous roles, especially in safety and attendance. Flexibility to rotate between different production lines and positions as operational needs change. Attention to detail when inspecting products for quality and when assembling and labeling packaging. Comfort working with tools, sprays, and materials used in mold preparation, coloring, and cleaning. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility where you will work primarily on your feet in a production area. The position requires prolonged standing or remaining in a stationary position, frequent walking throughout the facility, and repetitive movements such as lifting, stacking, and handling molds and stone products. You must be able to lift, move, and transport items up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, as well as ascend and descend stairs or ladders as needed. The environment may include exposure to dust, chemicals, and other substances, along with varying temperatures and environmental conditions. You will be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable at times, and you must wear all required personal protective equipment, including hearing, vision, and head protection. The work follows defined safety policies and procedures and is structured around scheduled shifts, with the potential for overtime and weekend work based on production demands. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
