View More Jobs Power Transmission Lineman General Foreman United States Be the First to Apply Job Description Transmission Lineman General Foreman SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Transmission Lineman General Foreman that will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing foreman and craft team members based on the project schedule and state and federal requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures Supervise and coordinate activities of foremen and their assigned craft workers Drive and enforce quality control programs across all work activities Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders Explain company policies and ensure safety rules are followed . Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job Analyze and resolve work problems Maintain time records Make cost estimates for contracts Use logical step-by-step procedures in work Plan work and solve problems Make decisions based on measurable information Operate machinery as needed Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of experience in transmission line construction or related electrical field Current driver's license required, with Class A CDL Proven experience in a leadership role supervising multiple crews or foremen Transmission experience required; distribution experience is a plus Solid understanding of safety regulations, including NFPA 70E and PPE requirements for transmission work Strong working knowledge of: Transmission line construction and maintenance Outage planning and execution Grounding methods and hot line crossings Distribution cover-up Bucket truck operations Drilling, digging, and structure setting Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, ability to work according to detailed, standard instructions and well-defined, established procedures Ability to determine work method from alternatives, work under broad assignments, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
