Fly Creek, NY Hours:

25-30 hours per week (flexible scheduling with peak season demands in spring/fall)

Pay:

$22-$28+ per hour (depending on experience and skills; roughly $25/hr for strong candidates)

Part-time W-2 employee with clear path to full-time DBR Small Engine Repair is a growing shop at 6170 NY-28 in Fly Creek, NY. We're looking for an experienced, self-motivated Small Engine / Power Sports Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on role focused on lawn mowers, handheld equipment, and related power sports/small engine repairs, with strong potential to grow into a full-time position as the shop expands. About the Role You'll primarily work on lawn mowers (push, riding, and commercial) and handheld/outdoor power equipment from brands like Stihl, Husqvarna, John Deere, MTD, AYP, and similar lines. We value quality repairs, safety, and great customer outcomes in a clean, well-equipped shop environment. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, service, and repair small gasoline engines (2-cycle and 4-cycle) Perform tune-ups, carburetor work, blade sharpening/replacement, belt/chain repairs, and full maintenance on mowers and handheld tools Troubleshoot and repair power sports/small engine equipment Maintain accurate repair records and communicate clearly with customers Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe What We're Looking For Proven experience as a small engine or power sports technician (previous auto mechanics with strong mechanical backgrounds are encouraged to apply) Tech savvy with diagnostic tools and modern equipment Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and reliable Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude Commitment to safe work practices Physical ability to handle shop demands (lifting, standing, etc.) What We Offer Competitive pay based on your experience Part-time schedule (25-30 hours) with strong potential to grow into full-time Opportunity to work on a variety of equipment in a growing local shop Shop tools and equipment provided Safe, supportive team environment with required NY employment protections (including workers' compensation) If you're a skilled, driven technician who takes pride in your work and wants room to grow with a local business, we'd love to hear from you!
