  • Full-time Practice Leader — Dental Practice Operations Ready to lead?
Our well-established general dentistry practice in Tolland, CT is hiring a Practice Leader to take ownership of day-to-day practice operations and front desk operations. This is a true leadership role: you'll oversee the business side of the practice, lead the front desk team, partner with the doctor on growth, and create the calm, professional, patient-first environment our patients have come to expect. If you're a proven dental practice leader who wants real authority, real impact, and a culture that respects you, keep reading. About the Role As Practice Leader, you are the operational leader of the practice. You own front desk operations, the patient experience, team performance, scheduling, insurance and billing workflows, KPIs, and the overall flow of the office. You report directly to the doctor/owner and serve as the bridge between the clinical team and the business side of the practice. What You'll Own (Key Responsibilities) Practice operations oversight. Lead the daily operations of the dental practice — office hours, opening/closing procedures, supplies, vendors, compliance, and facilities. Front desk operations leadership. Manage and develop the front desk team. Set standards for patient greeting, phone handling, scheduling, check-in/check-out, and new-patient conversion. Schedule and production. Optimize the doctor and hygiene schedules to maximize production while protecting the patient experience. Monitor open time, recall, and reactivation. Insurance, billing, and AR. Oversee dental revenue cycle management team, follow-up, and patient AR. Drive clean collections and minimize write-offs. Treatment plan presentation and case acceptance. Conduct financial conversations, payment options, and convert diagnosed treatment into scheduled care. KPIs and reporting. Track and report on production, collections, new patients, hygiene reappointment, case acceptance, and front desk KPIs. Bring solutions, not just problems. Patient experience. Be the standard-bearer for how every patient is treated — from the first call to the post-visit follow-up. Compliance. Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and CT dental practice compliance, policies, and documentation. What We're Looking For Dental experience is required. You have worked in a dental office and have hands-on experience with front desk operations, dental insurance, scheduling, patient flow, and clinical knowledge. Leadership track record. Previous experience leading a dental practice — as a Practice Leader, Practice Administrator, Office Manager, Lead Front Desk, or Operations Lead. Experience with dental practice management software Comfortable reading the numbers — production, collections, overhead, scheduling KPIs — and acting on them. Excellent communicator. You can have warm patient conversations, direct team conversations, and clear doctor conversations. Calm under pressure. You make the office feel steady on the busiest days. Coach's mindset. You build people up, set clear expectations, and hold the line. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to run multiple priorities without dropping the ball. HIPAA and OSHA fluent.
