Part-Time (Approx. 10-15 hours per week; varies by season and special events) Summary The Part-Time Worship Leader serves First Christian Church by leading Christ-centered worship that encourages congregational participation and spiritual growth. This individual will provide musical leadership for Sunday services, disciple and develop volunteer musicians, and help create meaningful worship experiences that align with the church's mission and values. Primary Responsibilities Worship Leadership Lead worship vocally and instrumentally for weekly Sunday services. Select and build worship sets that support the theme and message of each service. Foster an atmosphere of authentic, participatory worship for the congregation. Team Development and Discipleship Recruit, mentor, and disciple volunteer musicians and vocalists. Encourage spiritual growth, unity, and excellence within the worship team. Provide leadership, encouragement, and clear communication to all team members. Planning and Preparation Schedule and lead regular worship team rehearsals. Organize and manage worship service plans using Planning Center. Communicate clearly with pastors and team members regarding service themes, song selections, and expectations. Coordinate with the Sr. Pastor and AV Director in managing the worship ministry budget in purchasing resources and equipment necessary for worship. Technical and Musical Coordination Utilize music tracks, click tracks, and in-ear monitor systems as needed. Ensure worship team members are prepared with resources, charts, and recordings. Coordinate with sound and media volunteers to ensure smooth services. Special Services and Events Help plan and lead worship for special services, including but not limited to Christmas Eve, Easter (including sunrise service), and other church events. Participate in occasional additional rehearsals related to special services. Qualifications Spiritual Qualifications A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with Christian faith and values. Agreement with the beliefs and mission of First Christian Church. Musical Qualifications Strong vocal ability and proficiency on guitar, piano, or another lead instrument. Experience leading worship at a minimum of two (2) years in a church setting is preferred. Ability to balance leading worship with contemporary worship songs and hymns, as appropriate. Leadership and Technical Skills Ability to lead, disciple, and encourage volunteers. Experience with Planning Center (or willingness to learn). Familiarity with music tracks, click tracks, and in-ear monitor systems preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and relational skills. Expectations Maintain a servant-hearted, team-oriented attitude while being dependable, prepared, and punctual. Support the overall mission, values, and leadership of First Christian Church. Participate in regular communication and planning with church leadership. Participate in monthly staff meetings. Attendance at the annual staff conference as planned by the Sr. pastor. Compensation- Compensation is part-time and will be based on experience and qualifications.
- One (1) day off is available each quarter, with distribution at the employees' request. Unused days do not roll over to the next year.
- Additional time available with advanced notice and without pay.
