Job Description

Job Summary The Pre-Kindergarten Teacher fosters the spiritual, social, emotional, and academic development of young children in a nurturing, faith-centered environment. This role introduces early learning concepts while helping students grow in their understanding of God's love and Catholic values.
Job Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons in early literacy, math readiness, social skills, and creative play Integrate Catholic teachings, prayer, and values into daily routines and classroom activities Create a safe, loving, and structured classroom environment that reflects Christian principles Lead students in simple prayers and participate in age-appropriate religious activities Promote social-emotional development, including sharing, cooperation, and respect for others Use play-based, hands-on, and interactive teaching methods Observe and assess student development and progress through informal assessments and documentation Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student growth and needs Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance and age-appropriate discipline strategies Collaborate with staff and participate in meetings, training, and school events Job Requirements Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support the mission of Catholic education Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices Completion of background check and diocesan safe environment training The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
